Beyond the physical aspect of running, endurance is the ability to maintain a direction despite time, uncertainty, effort, and discomfort. It isn't the absence of difficulty, but the refusal to let it determine our direction.
We do not endure because suffering is the goal, but because we perceive a value far greater than what it costs us. Discomfort is not the purpose, but the price we accept to remain faithful to what matters for us.
Our values are not revealed through intention, but through action and motion. We are not defined by what we say we want, but by what we are willing to endure to obtain it. It is not pain that changes us, but the decision to remain committed to what holds meaning despite it.
This is why in the repetition of effort, we choose who we become.
We endure and become.
